NEET UG is the entrance exam for MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical courses, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Every story below is written from an official NTA notice and links to it.

NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Undergraduate) is the single entrance exam for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and B.Sc Nursing seats across India. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which declares the result and the All India Rank. Counselling is done by others: MCC for All India seats and each state for its own seats.
NEET UG 2027
NTA has not announced NEET UG 2027 yet. Every official NTA notice for NEET UG will appear in the news list above within minutes: application form, correction window, exam city slip, admit card, answer key and result.

NTA held a re-examination on 21 June 2026 and ran a fee refund for the 3 May exam; its notices on both are listed under Official sources. Close to 20 lakh candidates appeared and 11.21 lakh qualified, NTA said in its result press release. The exam was held at 5,440 centres in 551 cities in India and 14 abroad, in 13 languages.
Exam pattern (2026)
- 180 questions, 720 marks: Physics 45, Chemistry 45, Biology (Botany and Zoology) 90.
- 180 minutes, from 2 pm to 5 pm.
- Multiple-choice questions with four options and one correct answer.

Questions students ask
When is NEET UG 2027?
NTA has not announced NEET UG 2027 yet. In 2026 the application form opened on 8 February. We will publish the date as soon as NTA's notice comes out.
How many questions and marks are there in NEET UG?
180 questions for 720 marks: 45 in Physics, 45 in Chemistry and 90 in Biology (Botany and Zoology). The exam lasts 180 minutes. These are the NEET UG 2026 rules; check the 2027 bulletin when it is released.
What is the qualifying percentile?
For NEET UG 2026: the 50th percentile for General and EWS candidates, the 40th percentile for SC, ST and OBC candidates, and for candidates with benchmark disabilities the 45th percentile (General, EWS) or 40th percentile (SC, ST, OBC).
Does NTA run counselling?
No. NTA conducts the exam and declares the result and All India Rank. Counselling for All India Quota MBBS and BDS seats is run by MCC, and state seats by each state.
