JEE Advanced 2027: latest news, dates and notices

JEE Advanced is the entrance exam for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). In 2026 it was conducted by the seven Zonal Coordinating IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB), with IIT Roorkee as the organising institute. There are twenty-three IITs.

JEE Advanced 2027: what is known

As of 3 November 2026 the official website, jeeadv.ac.in, still shows the 2026 exam. The 2027 organising IIT, dates and brochure have not been published yet. Every official 2027 notice will appear in the news list above within minutes of its release.

How JEE Advanced worked in 2026

• Who could appear: the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (all categories) in the B.E./B.Tech paper of JEE Main 2026. Of these, 10% were GEN-EWS, 27% OBC-NCL, 15% SC, 7.5% ST and 40.5% OPEN, with 5% for PwD candidates within each category.
• Attempts: at most two, in two consecutive years.
• The exam: two papers of three hours each, both compulsory. In 2026 both were held on 17 May 2026: Paper 1 from 9:00 to 12:00 IST and Paper 2 from 14:30 to 17:30 IST.
• Class XII for IIT admission: at least 75% aggregate (65% for SC, ST and PwD), or the category-wise top 20 percentile of your board.

These are the 2026 rules from the official brochure. The 2027 brochure may change them, so always check it.

After JEE Advanced: JoSAA

IIT seats are allotted through JoSAA, together with NIT, IIIT and GFTI seats. Candidates with a JEE Advanced rank can choose IIT programmes; everyone with a JEE Main rank can choose NIT+ programmes.
